iBooks Author : How it will change the School Education ?
By harshad2011
Apple has launched its ‘iBooks Author,’ a publishing tool to create multi-touch books for its iBooks catalog. With this it looks like now Apple targets the schools as their market. Will it really change the Library concept ? Will it start a new revolution in digital library ?
Apple, riding on a wave of success has released this app as a free download across Apple platforms, including the iMac, and several technology blogs are raving about the move. It has already tied up with some of leading international book publishers such as McGraw Hill and Pearson.
Is Apple the first to enter in this market?
Certainly not. Amazon Kindle Touch, Sony reader and Nook tablet are already present in market . Then what's special about Apple? The iBooks Author app's gotten plenty of attention since its release for its user license restriction that any book created with it can only be sold through the iBookstore. And it cannot be sold on any other online store.
How does it affect you and me?
Certainly, if the ebooks become popular, because they do not need to print it and channelized it through distributors to market, the publishers can save pretty good money. To attract more people, the prices of ebooks can be dropped to great extend. That results in increased earning for authors, Apple and extra savings for readers. New market can be open for Apple with this. Books which are rare or very costly can be made affordable and positively can be reached to every corner of the world without barriers. ipad-3 will get a new market.
More interestingly it will allow more authors to come forward and publish their work , whether small or big. It will increase the Ability to Express.
What is more appealing to me is, because of ebooks, we will spare trees. Saving even few hundred tress can play a role to control the Global Warming. Lets' hope Apple hits success for better tomorrow.
